“The Founders believed a nation that governs itself, like ours, must rely upon an informed and engaged electorate." - Ronald Reagan

“If we lose, you’re going to lose - a lot."

Your 2026 vote is not an election of candidates but a statement about the direction of your country. The Democrats are moving left - very left (towards Communism) and the Republicans are fighting to hold on to our Freedoms and our Democracy.

ECONOMY: If we lose, you lose your tax cuts.

  • US Rep. David Rouzer will vote to keep your tax cuts in the Big Beautiful Bill that made permanent income tax cuts, has no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on social security (all within limits.)

  • NC Rep Charlie Miller and NC Rep Frank Iler support NC as a right-to-work state and an at-will-employment state. You have the CHOICE to end a work relationship at any time for any legal reason, and employers cannot require you to join a union as a condition of employment.

  • The BCGOP supports ending blocks on fossil fuel production so that all energy costs will be lower.

  • The BCGOP supports the America First! policies that bring manufacturing back to the USA. (who wants America second - or worse?)

  • The BCGOP fights for low taxes. Low taxes in BC. Capped state taxes. Right-to-work to prevent union abuses.

  • Healthcare costs are going up; the premium increases of the Affordable Care Act are going up.

  • High gas prices: Yes, they are high. Until conditions change, Republican legislative leaders in the North Carolina General Assembly (including House Speaker Destin Hall and Senate Leader Phil Berger) have called a special legislative session to explore suspending a portion of the state's fuel tax to provide some relief.

  • The BCGOP fights for low taxes. We urge you to Vote YES for two (2) amendments: Amendment 1 will require limits on property tax increases by local governments. Amendment 2 will keep the NC state income tax rate from being raised higher than 3.5%. These two amendments are GOOD for the people of NC and Brunswick County.

  • What is the Democrats plan? Increase the minimum wage - which means the wages of many fast-food companies, first responders and shelf stockers increases, which are passed down to you in the form of higher prices!

SAFTEY / CRIME: If we lose, you lose your safety and security.

  • US Rep. David Rouzer will vote to keep the border closed.

  • Sheriff Brian Chism leads and continues to enhance a hard-on-crime Sheriff’s Office.

  • The BCGOP will keep criminals in jail and opposes no-bail efforts.

  • The BCGOP advocates for closed borders to prevent illegal immigration but for legal immigration.

  • Our conservative judges and candidates Sarah Stevens, George Bell, Michael Byrne, and Craig Collins will not create laws from the bench but will interpret the Constitution as it is written.

  • The BCGOP will ensure emergency services are deployed to whichever NC area needs it regardless of political affiliation. Then-Governor Roy Cooper withheld funds for Western NC which was recovering from the effects of two hurricanes.

CLEAN WATER / HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

  • Randy Thompson and the other Republican Brunswick County Commissioners voted to approve the new Reverse Osmosis Plant that will have two aims: (1) expand water treatment capacity and (2) eliminate chemicals, including PFAS, from water taken from the Cape Fear River. That river supplies much of the county with water. Here is the latest status on the plant.

EDUCATION: If we lose, boys will be in girls’ bathrooms and in girls’ sports.

  • The BCGOP urges you to vote YES on the proposed school bond. Several months ago, the BCGOP Executive Committee unanimously adopted a resolution urging voters to support the 2026 school bond. Click here, scroll down slightly and you can find Superintendent Dale Cole’s school bond video presentation. In it he talks about the district’s recent academic successes, data underpinning the critical need to open two new schools in the next six years and the bond’s potential property tax impacts. Everything you might want to know about the bond is covered. And remember, in the end, a vote to support the bond is truly a vote to support the children of Brunswick County

  • Teachers’ salaries are set by the state, not the county. The BCGOP will continue to address teacher retention.

  • The BCGOP will keep the failed NY/NJ/VA policies out of NC and Brunswick County - money doesn’t guarantee improved student test results. No DEI. No unions. No boys in girls’ sports. No boys in girl's’ bathrooms. Increased student performance on standardized tests. Increased teacher satisfaction.

  • The BCGOP supports school CHOICE, and supports charter schools and trade schools to allow students to prosper in environments that best suit their learning needs. The COAST High School trains students in trades, where the current demand for workers lies.

YOUR LIFE: If they win, your quality of life will decrease.

  • The BCGOP will fund the Sheriff’s Office’s reasonable requests. We will NOT defund the police and WILL support ICE, if necessary.

  • Republicans favor smart, controlled growth. Planned development projects will now be approved by the elected Brunswick County Commissioners and not the unelected Planning Board. Look at those who are screaming loudly about overdevelopment. Many live in new developments in Brunswick County.

  • The BCGOP favors the second amendment - keep your guns.

VOTER ID / FAIR AND HONEST ELECTION: If we lose, you lose closed borders.

  • The BCGOP favors reviewing voter rolls for non-citizens and deceased.

  • The BCGOP urges you to Vote YES for to require ALL voters to present photo ID prior to voting. In 2018, then Governor Roy Cooper vetoed the Voter ID law and the NC Democrat Party recommends a vote against Voter ID. Per the wording of the actual amendment here, exceptions will be made. Per a recent Pew survey, a sizeable majority of Americans back Voter ID.

PLATFORM
