TESTIMONIALS
In Support of Michael Whatley
From John M:
Michael Whatley’s biggest challenge may be Roy Cooper’s financial advantage. Hopefully, voters will look beyond campaign spending and consider the bigger picture: Cooper’s record on releasing 3,500+ inmates and his administration’s handling of Hurricane Helene, including the delayed FEMA assistance that devastated families desperately needing help. Reports that some storm victims with Trump signs were bypassed by FEMA raise further concerns that deserve scrutiny.
Whatley’s hiring decision raises legitimate questions about vetting, but, the GOP’s Plan of Organization (POO) provides no formal mechanism for vetting Party volunteers or elected officers.
Ultimately, if voters look beyond the political ads and apply “common sense” to the candidates’ records, Whatley may still have a path to victory. There’s far more at stake in this election than campaign spending and advertising alone.
From Dennis P:
Roy Cooper’s record deserves greater scrutiny, particularly his release of approximately 3,500 inmates, including serious offenders who reportedly reoffended, and his administration’s criticized response to Hurricane Helene, which caused $72 billion in damages and 105 deaths. Additional concerns include delays in disaster assistance and allegations that FEMA workers were instructed to bypass damaged homes displaying Republican political signs. These issues raise serious questions about public safety, accountability, and the protection of North Carolina citizens.
While Michael Whatley’s hiring of Harvey West, Jr., who pleaded guilty in 2000 to taking indecent liberties with children, raises legitimate questions about vetting, Cooper’s record warrants equally serious attention for its broader impact on North Carolina families. Republicans must do a better job communicating these concerns to voters and explaining why Republican leadership is in their best interests.
From Trump in Truth Social:
I have just learned that Roy Cooper, the Radical Left Former Governor of North Carolina, let out 83 murderers from prisons and penitentiaries around the State, with 51 of these prisoners serving life sentences. They ended up committing 25 murders immediately after being released, and Roy Cooper’s reputation will never be the same. He is a TOTAL FRAUD! The reason for releasing them, believe it or not, was because Governor Cooper didn’t want them to catch COVID while in prison. Repeat Violent Offender DeCarlos Brown, Jr., who was put on the streets through release by Cooper, is the infamous murderer of Iryna Zarutska. He violently slashed Iryna from behind, for all to see, while she was innocently sitting on a train. This was captured on security film — So devastating for the reputation of North Carolina! What Roy Cooper has done is worse than Former Governor Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts releasing the infamous Willie Horton, previously convicted of murder, who went on to kidnap, rape, and murder again after Dukakis gave him a release and pardon. This terrible decision by Dukakis, who had an insurmountable lead in the Presidential Election of 1988, led to his resounding and conclusive defeat. Roy Cooper, likewise, has DISGRACED North Carolina, and disqualified himself from Public Office! Republican Michael Whatley is the man for the job. He was the Head of the Republican Party of North Carolina, and then the Head of the United States Republican Party, both unprecedented Victories. NORTH CAROLINA, VOTE FOR MICHAEL WHATLEY. HE HAS MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES SENATE, AND WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! - President DONALD J. TRUMP
From Eric C:
Michael Whatley is positioned as a strong, proven leader for the United States Senate with a solid track record of success, having previously served as Chairman of both the North Carolina Republican Party and the Republican National Committee. He offers a tough-on-crime platform and a commitment to public safety, standing in stark contrast to previous Democratic leadership in North Carolina—such as former Governor Roy Cooper—whose early prison release policies during the COVID-19 pandemic faced heavy criticism after released individuals went on to commit further violent crimes. I was horrified to see the Ukrainian immigrant from Charlotte be slashed late at night on the bus from one of these released convicts Whatley brings experienced leadership, national backing, and a dedication to protecting law-abiding citizens and serving the state effectively.
From Gary Z:
Communists running against Republicans proves how high the stakes are. Trump needs a GOP House and Senate to deliver his pro-America agenda—this is as critical as the presidential race itself. Roy Cooper’s early release of 3,500 prisoners, including convicted murderers, marks him as a follower, not a leader. North Carolina alone accounted for 10% of the 37,000 COVID early releases across 24 states. Inexcusable. Disqualifying. Whatley is a proven leader.
Vote Republican—up and down the ballot.
From Barbara A:
Dear Fellow North Carolinian,
I urge you to vote for Michael Whatley in the U.S. Senate race because he is a proven fighter for North Carolina values and President Trump’s America First agenda. Raised in Blowing Rock and a longtime resident of Gaston County, Whatley has deep roots here and the experience to deliver results—serving as chief of staff to Sen. Elizabeth Dole, leading energy and agriculture teams on the Trump transition that helped lower energy prices and boost rural economies, and chairing both the North Carolina Republican Party and the Republican National Committee. He prioritizes policies that let families “make more and keep more”: cutting taxes, reducing regulations that burden manufacturers, small businesses, and farms, securing affordable energy, and backing law enforcement. Unlike career politicians, he is committed to secure borders, deporting criminal illegal immigrants, eliminating sanctuary policies, protecting girls’ sports and parental rights in schools, and defending the Second Amendment and the sanctity of life.
In contrast, Roy Cooper’s record as governor shows a consistent pattern of higher taxes, weaker public safety, and policies at odds with mainstream North Carolina priorities. He vetoed multiple tax-cut bills, opposed the working-families tax relief that put thousands of dollars back in average households, and resisted measures requiring local cooperation with ICE to remove criminal illegal aliens. Whatley rightly highlights Cooper’s soft-on-crime approach, including early releases of thousands of inmates (some of whom later committed serious new crimes) and resistance to stronger pretrial detention for violent offenders. Cooper also vetoed the Parents’ Bill of Rights, legislation keeping biological males out of girls’ sports, and restrictions on irreversible procedures for minors—choices that prioritize activist agendas over the safety and values of our communities. North Carolina needs a senator who will stand with President Trump to restore law and order, protect our borders, and put working families first. Michael Whatley is that candidate.
